Happy Sam Folk Evening

Date: 9 June 2017
Time: 20:00
- 23:00
Location: Bredfield Village Hall, IP13 6AX

West End “Warhorse” Song Man, Bob Fox is a well known and respected international artist. Bob Fox is one of the scene’s superior singers, a passionate interpreter of song. A talented musician playing guitar, melodeon and dulcimer. Add to that a full and varied repertoire of traditional and modern songs and plenty of good ‘craic’ and you can be sure of a good night. “As soon as I heard him sing I realised that Bob Fox must have one of the best voices in England, he is an artist of great ability and integrity. Blessed with one of the best voices in British folk music today and coupled with astonishing guitar technique, Bob Fox performs pure unadulterated folk music at it’s finest” Ralph McTell His musical career started in the folk clubs of his native north east, where he became resident singer at the celebrated Davylamp club. Later, he toured as a duo with fiddler Tom McConville. As well as appearing again in a further run of Warhorse as the Song Man, Bob is one of the principals in the hugely succesful Pitmen Poets.

Happy Sam Folk Evenings will start with a guest performance, followed by a music break for anyone who wants to play. After that the guest will answer questions and talk about their specialist knowledge and enthusiasm for their type of music. They will also encourage anyone who wants to join in with them, either playing or singing. It is hoped this will become a general session for all who wish to participate or just enjoy.

There is no bar so bring your own drinks, though an empty tankard can be filled from an honesty ale barrel provided. As well as the guest CD’s to buy there will be a table for donated CD’s etc. This will be a chance to purchase and try out some music not heard before, whilst helping a local charity - Suffolk Mind

Tickets are on the door and will be £5
