Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils have recently received the news that Parliament has made the Orders required to create the new East Suffolk Council.

Under the Orders, the East Suffolk Council will come into existence on 1 April 2019, when both Suffolk Coastal District Council and Waveney District Council will be abolished.

A warding review of District Ward boundaries will need to take place to determine the new warding to elect the new District Council Members to in May 2019. The formal review undertaken by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) will commence in July.

Prior to that, the LGBCE are holding briefing sessions for all Parish/Town Councils in the area.
