It was typical British BBQ weather!! We have had one of the hottest summer's on record - what could go wrong with organising a BBQ on Bank Holiday Sunday - wind, rain & freezing temperatures!! But that didn't stop us!! David Hepper and Keith Derham wrapped up in their winter woollies and wet weather gear braved it out in the gazebo to cook great burgers and sausages, in the dry were lovely buns and salad to accompany them. Trifle and/or strawberries, meringues and ice cream finished off the supper nicely. There were great games of table football and table tennis - all ages playing against each other. And the old Castle favourite - Higher or Lower got everyone oohing and aahing - helped by a certain amount of alcoholic beverage. In fact - a great time was had by all and we raised £463.04 for the Village Hall Extension Fund.

Special thanks to Hilary & Dave Harker, David Hepper, John & Jane Talbot and Kay, Roswyn & John Bradshaw, Angela & Keith Derham, Denise Causier and Robin & Janet D'Arcy
