On Sunday 11th November after the church Remembrance Service a crowd gathered in the village hall car park to witness Val Norrington plant an oak tree, donated by the Parish Council, in memory of all those people of Bredfield who died during World War 1 and also all those, especially women, who kept the country going whilst we were at war. 11th November 2018 is 100 years since the end of WW1. Stewart Belfield spoke on behalf of the Parish Council and his son, Samuel read out the words on the memorial plaque. Val did a splendid job of putting the soil round the tree and reminded us all of the contribution paid by the brave villagers of Bredfield during that terrible war.
