BREDFIELD VILLAGE SHOP

The cold weather inspires ideas for lunchtime soups,
so do take advantage of all the winter vegetables
now available at the shop - leeks, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, squash, cauliflowerrs
plus maybe some fresh parsley and crusty bread!
Now in stock a big box of Seville oranges,
and all you need for a great batch of homemade MARMALADE.
If large amounts are required,
we can easily order extra, so let us know and we’ll be sure to have plenty,
as well as lemons or grapefruit.
We are very pleased with the Fairfield crisps, from the Colne Valley
a well-run family farm making their crisps from their own potatoes
and the ovens that are powered by maize also grown on the farm.
They produce a huge range of flavours and we have lots in stock
but we can always order others as required.
Check them out here
Look out for Spring produce as the days lengthen
Primulas, pansies and other bedding plants
will be on sale over the next few months!

A recent visitor to the shop said this

Bredfield Village Shop is situated next to the Village Hall, with ample parking, and the playing fields behind have a lovely view over the countryside as well as a great children’s Play Area.

Opening hours: Monday -Saturday 09.30-12.30

One of the earliest community shops, it has been going strong for nearly 30 years. It is now a Community Interest Company, run entirely by volunteers, and aims to support local businesses and employment. Any profits are put back into the community through donations to local projects and organisations, as well as different national charities each year.

This year the shop donated £100 each to

  • East Anglian Air Ambulance
  • Compassion in World Farming
  • RNLI Aldeburgh
  • The Brain Tumour Trust

The shop is well-stocked with a wide range of local products, as well as general groceries, organic health foods, and regular deliveries of fresh produce:

MILK: Tuesday and Saturday - British milk and yogurts delivered from Foulgers Dairy, Grundisburgh. Glass bottle option.

MEAT: Wednesday - High-welfare local meat from Clarkes at Bramfield,

BREAD: Tuesday and Friday - locally-baked bread, snacks and rolls from the Bakehouse, Woodbridge.

VEGETABLES: Tuesday - delivery of fresh fruit and veg from Newbourne every with additional market produce on Thursdays.

EGGS: gorgeous barn-raised, high welfare chicken eggs from Havensfield Eggs, Hoxne.

CHEESES: a choice of East Anglian cheeses and the rest of the UK

Also available:

Bredfield honey and home-made preserves

Teas, coffees, hot chocolate and cold drinks served inside or out

Cards for all occasions

Stamps

If you would like to place an order for any of the above, or have any special requests email Kate Pirkis or of course call in at the shop.

If you would like to volunteer to work in the shop – even 1 morning a month would be great – contact Linda Buckman

Please support the shop and encourage others to come - everybody welcome!
